Need a fast recipe to get an awesome chip dip on the table for BBQs this summer or for game day? If so, you have come to the right place. This 3 Ingredient Chip Dip is fantastic!

In fact, just last week I made a much more time consuming dip that took a lot more effort, and my husband said, “It’s good, but I wish you’d just make the other dip.”

So here is the other (much easier!) dip!

What kind of salsa should I use for this 3 ingredient chip dip?

Any kind of salsa will work.  I typically use a picante salsa, or my homemade salsa.

If you want extra spice, go for a hot salsa.  If you’re not into spice, go for mild.  This recipe is very versatile and easy to customize to your tastes.

Can I use a different cheese than cheddar in this 3 ingredient chip dip?

Sure!  You can use any cheese you would like.

However, we love the contrast of the sharpness of cheddar paired with the creaminess of cream cheese.  And when you add in the spicy salsa, the combination is amazing.

Some cheeses will melt differently, as well.  So, while we support you choosing the kind of cheese you like best, we do know that using cheddar cheese is tried and true.

I know most people love it, but I try to steer clear of Velveeta, due to the high amount of processing, so this recipe is perfect for our house!
