Some favorite baby items from a mom of 3, with input from our fans! My baby is 3 years old! I just can’t figure out how it’s gone by so quickly! As she outgrew things, we’ve gotten rid of the items, since we don’t plan to have any more babies. And it might sound strange, but I’ve been surprised at how many things were difficult for me to part with! They saw us through 3 babies, and apparently I grew attached! So, since I know that there are a lot of first-time mamas out there, I thought I’d share with
I have been Learning to Celebrate Life over and over again. God has been working through little lives to change me. Three years ago was an epic year for my friends. 32 babies were born to them. 32! 31 of my friends had babies (1 set of twins). Beautiful children. One of those babies was Jamie’s Baby Girl. I began 2013 with my 3rd miscarriage and later that spring I experienced my 4th. I was heart broken. Lance and I began to wonder if we would ever have children. (You can read about this here.) As my friends began to

I’ve never been blessed with the desire to clean. However, it’s not something anyone can get away with just not doing because they don’t like it, so I’ve taken several steps to try to make cleaning easier and more fun. I just want to be able to get my cleaning over with quickly so I can spend time with my family. I’ve found that figuring out
The One Word Challenge is picking a word that you will focus on for a whole year. This one word shapes how you look at your year. I was recently introduced to the concept of One Word. After looking around a bit on the internet, I see that it has been around for a while. If you are not familiar with it like I was, it is the idea of picking a word to be the focus of your year. It’s meant to be an inspiration for you, not one more thing to do. There is a website and a book all

We have been surprised at how quickly our dog’s mind has perked up. He is remembering his old tricks again. We saw visible results within 30 days. According to Purina experts, around age 7 dog’s minds begin to change because the glucose metabolism changes and can affect their memory, learning, awareness or decision making. Purina Pro Plan discovered a way to promote alertness and mental sharpness in

We’ve known him for longer than we’ve had him. Our good friends have had him since he was a puppy. They decided to move across the country and thought it would be best if Buddy didn’t go with them. They would be living in an apartment and Buddy loves to have room to roam. The Hardworking Husband and I asked if we could take him. We have just under a half an acre.
Summer is Sundae Season and Smucker’s® & Walmart has got you covered with everything you need to make everyday a #SundaeFundae. *Thanks to Smucker’s® Ice Cream Toppings and Walmart for sponsoring this post. All opinions are 100% my own. It’s been hot here. Really hot. So we’ve been keeping cool by enjoying the pool, cranking the air conditioner, and eating ice cream. But while we love plain ole ice cream, there is something extra special about a sundae. And it’s a fun summer treat for the whole family. But we were woefully low on sundae supplies! Smucker’s® Caramel Syrup has always
I don’t know why I thought life would slow down once summer came, but for some reason I had that in my head! And now that it’s halfway through June, and the first half of the month flew by, I’m feeling like the summer is even busier than the school year! The Verse of the Week Chalkboard helps families memorize scripture together! I think that memorizing scripture is such an important aspect of the education we can give our children– and ourselves! In Psalm 119:11, it says, “I have hidden Your word in my heart, that I might not sin against You.” When we set scripture memorization as a priority, we can better learn about God. In fact, I think scripture memorization is so vital, that it’s part of our homeschooling goals for Miss Magoo and Little Man. I attempted to make a Verse of the Week Chalkboard a while back,
If you have kids, you instantly know what I’m talking about when I mention the 5pm blues, pre-dinner drama or the “witching hour.” I have not met a mom yet that didn’t experience this. That’s the time of day, when everything and I mean EVERYTHING can go horribly wrong! The time of day when even the most sane mom wants to make the kids a pb&j sandwich and crawl in a hole and pray for bedtime to come soon!! So what can you do? I mean, besides the hole thing? Through a lot of trial and error and mostly error,
