Peppermint Snowflake Marshmallows are perfect paired with Hot Cocoa. Impress your friends without a lot of work. Super simple to make. Most of the nation has been cold and a lot has experienced snow storms recently. We have more storms in our forecast. It’s only mid January and we’ve already had a doozy of a winter here in Southern Idaho. Most days I don’t want to leave home. Cuddling up by the fire with Hot Cocoa sounds so much better. When it comes to hot cocoa, I’m like a little kid. I love marshmallows in it. I wanted to
Snow Covered Pine Cones are a super easy craft decoration and only require 3 things to make them. They are so easy kids can do it. Oh friends, let have a little heart to heart about crafts. I do not do crafts. I’m too much of a perfectionist to do crafts. They drive me nuts because they never come out the way I picture in my head. Up until now, I have left the crafts to Lucy and Jamie. And they have done a marvelous job. It’s possible that my eye-hand coordination is bad. I just never can make things

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #HolidayGlow #CollectiveBias A few weeks ago I had an appointment for my annual. Every woman’s favorite day, for sure. So there I am sitting on the examining table clothed in a gown and sheet. And I looked down at my feet and was completely mortified! My legs were so hairy, and my toenails had specks of nail polish from the last time I had painted them, which had obviously been quite some time. I had been running around like crazy taking care of
Turquoise walls with pink flowers make for a bright & very fun flower power girl’s bedroom. We’ve been in our house almost a year now and it’s still a work in progress. Probably has a lot to do with the fact that I’m just not in that big of a hurry to get it done. And even when we try to work on it, life gets in the way. But one of my daughter’s room is completely done, thanks in large part to my mother (and my sister)! When we first moved in both of my daughters were in this
I was given the opportunity by The J.M. Smucker Company to review and build an ice cream sundae bar using Smucker’s® Ice Cream Toppings. Smucker’s® is sponsoring the post, but the opinions and ideas are all mine! We love ice cream. I mean, really, is there anyone out there who doesn’t love ice cream? (Obviously those with milk allergies and lactose problems– but is there anyone who can eat ice cream but doesn’t like it? I think not.) So one fun thing that my family likes to do is have an ice cream sundae bar! It’s so easy to put
Upcycle old cabinet and drawer fronts to make new and fun home decor with this Fruit of the Spirit Sign! I mentioned a while back that my sister got new cabinet fronts, so she gave me an old one and I turned it into our Verse of the Week Chalkboard. Well, I wanted to show you what she did with one of the drawer fronts. She turned it into this beautiful piece of art– a Fruit of the Spirit Sign. My sister is so much more artistic than I am, and she free-handed this whole thing. The Fruit of the
Homemade Natural Hair Conditioner is simple to make and a great alternative to unnatural store bought conditioner that has chemicals in it that are bad for your hair and you. Jamie warned me a while back that I am starting to edge on the side of granola. And while I don’t want to be a full on granola (and neither does The Hardworking Husband), I do want to move more toward using natural products. In doing research, I have found that the uterine fibroids I have may have been caused by some of the unnatural products I’ve been using.
A while back I made Homemade Marshmallows. I thought it would be fun to make Pink Marshmallow Hearts. It would be a great added touch to Valentine’s Day. I wanted to use a natural food coloring though. I talked with Granola Girl, and with the help of another friend, we finally landed on beet powder. It would change the texture and flavor of the marshmallows the least. I was mentioning this to Jamie and she said she had dehydrated beets I could have. I took them and ground them in my spice grinder (coffee grinder used only for spices).
As a child, I always loved the song, We Three Kings. The thought of these wise men leaving their lives and setting off by faith to find the Messiah is such an amazing concept. And the star they followed inspired this Christmas craft of a cinnamon stick star sign. O star of wonder, star of night, Star with royal beauty bright, Westward leading, still proceeding, Guide us to thy perfect Light. -John Henry Hopkins, Jr. While I made this Cinnamon Stick Star, I thought about how the wise men not only saw the star and understood its implication, but they
