Watering Can from a Milk Jug

I recently made watering cans for the kids out of old 1/2 gallon milk jugs. I washed out the empty jugs, punched holes in the caps, and the project was done.
It has been so rainy and windy here in Idaho that we had to wait almost 2 weeks before the weather was nice enough for the kids to try these out.
Miss Magoo helped Little Man use the hose to fill up their jugs. After that, I filled the little pool and had them fill their jugs from there. Then they got to help water the garden.
Little Man had a bit of a rough time taking the cap on and off, so I ended up poking holes in the bottom of his jug instead.

I’m always amazed at how much fun kids can have with a little water and their imaginations. Throw some dirt in the mix, and they will be busy for hours!

Such a great way to recycle! We will have to make one of these to use.

Haha, Sarah, I agree completely. It's a nice thought that the kids would share, but it's definitely easier to not have to listen to the whining and fighting when, inevitably, they don't share!

I need to do this. We have one watering can and the kids fight over it. I'm discovering, the older my kids get, that the easiest way to go is to just make sure there's one for everyone ;)
