The other day I found some sirloin steak and some steak tenderloin, but each package was pretty small- there was probably 1 pound between the two packages. So I was kind of thinking shredded beef since I didn’t want to wait for it to thaw, my husband was at work and couldn’t grill, and this heat has been killing this 36 week pregnant woman, so I didn’t want to cook.
I called up Dan and asked if it would work for me to put it in the Crock-Pot Cook ‘n Carry, and what I should put with it. He said it should be fine, and maybe try sprinkling it with steak seasoning, but he wasn’t really sure since he’s the griller, not the crockpotter (I know, I just made up words).
So that’s what I did. I put the frozen steaks in the crock pot and sprinkled each with McCormick Grill Mates Montreal Steak Seasoning. Then I turned it on low and let it cook away. About 5 hours later, I shredded it with 2 forks and left it until dinnertime (another hour maybe?). It was fabulous. And I love how versatile shredded beef is- the kids and I had nachos from it that night, the following day they had noodles with beef on it and I had a salad, and today we had burritos.

Easy and good. Montreal steak seasoning is great stuff! Thanks for sharing at What’d You Do This Weekend.
Sounds like a nice easy way to prepare beef! I have a tough London Broil in the freezer and love Montreal Steak Seasoning, might give this a try:@)
Thanks, Marsha! I usually don’t thaw my chicken before putting it in the crock pot, so I hoped it would work with steak and it did! I didn’t add any liquid, and it was plenty moist! Thanks for having us at Weekend Potluck!
What a grand idea! I am intrigued that you didn’t have to add any liquid..using frozen steak? Sounds like something I should make soon. Love all the ways you served it too. Thanks a million for sharing at Weekend Potluck. Looking forward to what you bring next time.
