One of my favorite gifts to both give and to receive is handmade items. I love the personalization, the thought and time that goes into a handmade gift, and the fact that they’re usually unique gifts.
This year has been pretty crazy for us. We’re in the midst of adding onto our home, and we’re doing it 100% ourselves. Add on to that the fact that I homeschool my 3 kids, and I just didn’t think I’d have time for handmade gifts this year.
That’s why I was so excited when I was approached to write this post about Amazon Handmade. I didn’t even know there was such a thing as Amazon Handmade (did you?)!
I don’t believe in pushing products that I’ve never used, or don’t love. So I set about digging through Amazon Handmade to find some items I could order and see what I thought. It turns out that there are some serious gems if you’re willing to do a little digging, and I ended up having a hard time limiting the number of items I ordered!
I was surprised to find that half of the items on Amazon Handmade were customizable or made to order!
I have some serious Star Wars fans in my house, so I was interested when I saw this music box on Amazon Handmade. My son is always really interested in how things work, and I knew he would enjoy cranking the handle to make the Star Wars theme song play. This music box is small, and seemed like the perfect addition to his stocking.
As I was looking at cute Christmas items, I realized that I didn’t have an ornament for our marriage. I love that you could personalize the exact date on this ornament, instead of it just being the year.
It seems to be well made, and I love that after 14 years, we finally have an ornament!
This mountain necklace reminded me of a friend of mine, and I knew it would be the perfect gift for her. It’s smaller than I had pictured it would be, but it’s beautiful. I love that there are 2 layers of metal in the mountains, to give it texture and depth.
I’ve included this second picture of it, so you can see the size comparison.
This last necklace is a dandelion seed. I had a hard time getting good pictures of it, since it wanted to reflect absolutely everything! But it’s absolutely gorgeous. I love how whimsical it is, and how we all think of wishes when we see it.
Obviously Amazon Handmade is going to be more expensive than making it yourself, but it is the perfect way to give personalized gifts to your friends and family this Christmas, or any time of year, if you don’t have the time or the talent to make your own gifts.
You don’t even have to leave your house in order to get handmade items, like you would if you wanted to go to a craft fair. You can relax on your couch while surfing through, looking for that perfect gift, and then have it delivered to your door with the amazing 2-day shipping Amazon Prime is known for.
(Just make sure that if you’re wanting personalized items, you order earlier. Having someone personalize your items adds a little more time to the order. My ornament came in 5 days.)
If buying gorgeous handmade gifts from the comfort of your home wasn’t enough, add in the fact that you’re able to support real people who are making these products, and it’s a win-win situation!
Right now, until December 31st, Amazon is offering 20% off of many of Amazon Handmade items for Amazon Prime members, so go check it out and get your Christmas shopping done!

Such beautiful personalized gifts to think of for Christmas and other times. I like the idea that they are homemade. I really like the dandelion gift. I’ll have to check it out with Amazon.
