Only 3 ingredients!! This Asian BBQ Slow Cooker Chicken is so very easy but still delicious!
I love using my slow cooker to make dinner or at least the main dish. Even if I’m going to be home all day, it’s so nice to throw ingredients in there and let it do all the work.
We’ve eaten this Asian BBQ chicken quite a lot lately. It’s a nice change from the chicken, I normally cook in there and it’s delicious. Also it goes great with stir fry vegetable and rice, which is one of my favorite things to eat!
This recipe uses chicken thighs, you can substitute chicken breasts if you prefer. But I love the taste of chicken thighs and love the fact that they are generally much cheaper at the store and often on sale. Therefore this slow cooker is one that one break the bank! It’s also very easily adjustable to add more or less thighs depending on the size of your family.
- 1 pkg chicken thighs, normally 6-8 thighs
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- Place chicken thighs across bottom of crockpot (if you need to do more than one layer that's fine but place soy sauce & bbq on bottom layer before repeating layers).
- Pour soy sauce over chicken. Pour bbq sauce over chicken. Don't worry about covering it all as it will spread out as it cooks.
- Cook on low for 6 hours or high for 4. Test with meat thermometer to ensure it is done. Temp should read 165 degrees.
Don't turn over the chicken while cooking. This will give it a nice soy sauce/bbq crust on top.
