These delicious Cheesy Pesto Breadsticks are kid-friendly but add some extra flavor adults will love!
Many years ago, my husband and I visited a friend in Bozeman, Montana, where we were introduced to a delicious restaurant called MacKenzie River Pizza. Our friend insisted that we try their cheesy pesto breadsticks– or as they call them, “Pesto Poles”– and we were hooked!
Any time we made it to a Montana city with a MacKenzie River Pizza, we got pesto poles, but I wanted to have them more often, so I decided to make my own cheesy pesto breadsticks so I could have them whenever I wanted them!
The best thing about cheesy pesto breadsticks is that they are so simple! Well, maybe that’s not true– the best thing is probably the ooey, gooey cheese!
For your pizza crust, you can use your favorite recipe, or try Kerry’s favorite Pizza Dough recipe. And Kerry also has a fabulous Pesto recipe, as well as a recipe for Mozzarella, so you can make every ingredient in this recipe if you want!
- 1 pizza crust
- 1/4 cup pesto, more or less depending on how much you like it
- 1 cup mozzarella
- Heat oven to 450 degrees.
- Spread pesto over pizza crust. Top with mozzarella.
- Bake 8-10 minutes, or until cheese is fully melted and dough is cooked through.
