Chocolate Amish Friendship Bread

Looking for a new way to use your Amish Friendship Bread Starter?  This Chocolate Amish Friendship Bread is a rich, moist chocolatey bread.

We love our Amish Friendship Bread.

Maybe you’ve been given a starter, or maybe you want to make your own Amish Friendship Bread Starter.  You make loaves of Amish Friendship Bread, but after a while you get a little bored of it, so you want to try something new.

That’s where our Amish friendship bread variations come in.

Chocolate Amish Friendship Bread is rich and chocolatey, and so different from regular friendship bread.  We’ve taken out the cinnamon, and added in cocoa powder and chocolate chips instead, making for a fabulous chocolate quick bread.

Another great friendship bread recipe is Amish Friendship Bread Muffins.  All the deliciousness of the regular loaf, but in individual-sized portions, that take just minutes to bake.

Do I have to use instant pudding mix in Chocolate Amish Friendship Bread?

This recipe has been created using instant pudding mix, so it will turn out best if you include it.  Removing it would change the texture of the bread, as well as the ratio of dry to wet ingredients, so we don’t recommend doing so.

You can make your own substitute for vanilla instant pudding mix.  This is what both Kerry and I use.  It costs less money, and has no fillers, so we love it!
