Find out how easy it is to dry roast almonds!
My family loves to snack. And because we homeschool, we’re home a lot, which means there’s plenty of time for snacking. Because of this, I try to offer healthy snacks for my family, like these dry roast almonds, so at least those snacks can be packed full of vitamins instead of just junk.
Almonds in general are such a great snack. They are surprisingly filling, full of fiber and protein, and a great source of nutrients. They’re full of potassium, magnesium, calcium, and vitamin E, so they’re really a great choice for snacking on.
While I love raw almonds, I sometimes want to change it up a bit, and I’ve found that dry roasting the almonds can bring out an amazing flavor. Sure, you can buy them from the store already roasted, but fresh roasted tastes so much better. I find that after having eaten fresh roasted, when I eat ones that I’ve bought already roasted, they seem a bit stale.
The best part is that it is so easy to dry roast almonds at home! All you’ll need is 15-20 minutes, some almonds, a cookie sheet, and an oven!
How to Dry Roast Almonds
Dry Roasted Almonds are a healthy, delicious snack, ready in just 20 minutes!
Ingredients
- 1 lb. raw almonds
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350º.
- Spread raw almonds in a single layer on a cookie sheet. Put parchment paper under the almonds if you want to make it easier to pick them up when they're done.
- Roast in oven for 10 minutes, then stir. Put back in for 5-10 more minutes, until they are roasted to your liking. Make sure to check after 5 minutes, so they don't get overdone.
- Allow almonds to cool. If you used parchment paper, just pick up two edges of the paper and tip one end to make the almonds slide down and into a container for storage.

I found that 20 minutes was too long for these to dry roast at 350F. Mine were ready at 15 minutes and the ones I left in for 17 minutes were over done for my taste. But this is a good idea and I will use this recipe again.

Thanks so much for your feedback! Every oven is different, so I appreciate knowing that 20 minutes was too long for your oven. I'll amend the recipe to make a note of that. Enjoy your week!
