Fried Apples

Fried Apples are not actually fried, but are a delicious treat. They are wonderful as a side dish or in apple desserts like apple crisp.

Fried Apples can be a sweet side dish for a meal or can be used in apple desserts. I like to use them in Apple Crisp. They take the dessert over the top.

What apples are best for cooking?

Any firm apple with high acidity is great for cooking or baking. Some examples of great baking/cooking apples are Honeycrisp, Braeburn, Granny Smith, Jonathon, and Jonagold.

Apples that aren’t great for cooking or baking are Red Delicious, Gala, and McIntosh.

What to serve fried apples with?

Fried Apples are great with french toast, pancakes, oatmeal, ice cream, yogurt, in apple pies, in apple crisp, in apple strudel, as a side to ham, and so many other options.
