Nativity Plaque with Verse Printable

Today I’m going to show you what I made with one of the printables.  I love using printables to decorate.  You can frame them and you have cute new decor that’s often free. But sometimes I like using them for more than just framing. 

I made this as a Christmas present for my sister-in-law.  Don’t worry, I’m not ruining the surprise as we had Christmas with them over Thanksgiving Weekend.  She loves Christmas decor and I love nativities.  So I combined the two and made this nativity plaque with verse printable.  

I got the plaque at the Thrift Store and sanded all the old painting off of it.  I painted the outside gold and was originally planning on painting the inside white but decided to use scrapbook paper instead.   I attached the paper with a thin layer of Mod Podge and let it dry.

Then I added the nativity scene stickers, I bought at Hobby Lobby.  Then I painted over the whole thing with mod podge and let dry completely.  I added a hanger to the back and then hot glued the clip onto the bottom front.  Finally I clipped the printable onto it.

I thought printing the printable on purple would be pretty with the gold. But since the printable could easily be changed, my sister-in-law could add a new one every year or use the same one.
