DIY Peeps Wreath | A cute and easy Peeps Wreath will dress your home up for Easter easily!

I was at our local dollar store the other day, and noticed that they had Peeps in stock.  For only a dollar a pack, I couldn’t resist.  I grabbed a few packages, and as I was walking around I noticed that they had wreath frames as well, so I decided to make a Peeps wreath.

Because if I’m completely honest, I don’t actually like to eat Peeps, I just think they’re adorable!  So I was actually hoping to use them for something cute and not eat them, which I know is probably ridiculous.

Once I got home and started working on it, I realized that you could see the wreath form between the Peeps, so I got some burlap to cover the wreath form.  I simply wrapped the wreath form in burlap and hot glued the end to the back.

I love using hot glue guns, so I just put a dab of hot glue on the back of each bunny and stuck it to the burlap.  I worried that the hot glue might melt the Peeps enough that they wouldn’t stick, but it worked like a charm.

Fresh out of the package, the Peeps were nice and malleable, but they start getting hard pretty fast, so I would definitely try to get the whole thing finished while they’re fresh, so they stick better.  And really, that shouldn’t be hard to do.  Even with my trying to figure out how to make it look, trying several different ideas, and taking pictures, this only took me about 30 minutes, so it’s definitely a super easy project.

So in case you want step-by-step directions, here they are.

How to Make a DIY Peeps Wreath:

Materials:

  • 27 or so Peeps (the exact number will depend on the size of your wreath form.  You can use all the same color, or do a pattern like I did)
  • Wreath form (I used a wire one)
  • Burlap
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks

1) Wrap wreath form in burlap by winding the burlap around and around.  Secure the end with hot glue.

2) Lay out the Peeps on the wreath, making the spacing even between them, and making sure that if you’re doing a pattern you can make it work in the right amount of space.

3) Pick up Peeps one by one and put about an inch of hot glue on the back, and then immediately press back into place on the burlap.

4) Eat any leftover Peeps, and enjoy your cute Peeps wreath!
