Roasted Garlic Parmesan Green Beans

If you love garlic, you’re going to love these Roasted Garlic Parmesan Green Beans.  They make the perfect side dish!

Roasted Garlic Parmesan Green Beans are a quick, flavorful side dish recipe. We enjoyed them with shrimp alfredo, but they would really pair well with so many dishes.  They’d add a pop of flavor to a beef roast, pork chops, or chicken breasts as well.

What seasoning is good in green beans?

Green beans lend themselves well to a variety of different seasonings.  The easiest seasonings for green beans are salt and pepper, though that’s quite a simple flavor profile.  They’re also delicious with bacon and onions.  For this recipe, we’re really giving them a burst of flavor with garlic, salt and pepper, Italian seasoning, Parmesan cheese, and butter.

Tips for making Roasted Garlic Parmesan Green Beans:

  • Don’t overcook the green beans.  They can easily go from the desired crisp tender to an overdone, limp green bean. Just 15 minutes in the oven will make these green beans the perfect texture.
  • If you enjoy garlic but aren’t crazy about it, you could easily decrease the amount to 2-3 cloves of garlic instead. I wouldn’t really recommend using any more garlic than it calls for unless you’re really wild for garlic.  As it is, these are quite garlicky (in a good way, in my opinion).
  • Use fresh grated Parmesan.  The dried Parmesan that comes in a shaker cannot be substituted for fresh, or it will become far too salty.
