Simple Fruit Salad

Simple Fruit Salad is just that. It’s almost as basic as you can get. Fruit with a little lime juice to give a little punch. Great for the summer when you need something light.

I have always been a big fan of fruit salad.  I have made many variations, but I always come back to this simple fruit salad. Even though it is so simple, it is so good.  One little step changes the flavor and make it fresh and light tasting.  I started making this in high school.  I’m not sure why I thought to put the lime juice over it.

The fruit salad so good that The Hardworking Husband will even eat it.  And he’s not a big fan of fruit.  He’s great about eating vegetables, but fruit is just not something he will eat often unless it’s in a pie. Like his favorite Blueberry Pie. I love fruit, but can’t seem to eat it all before it goes bad.  So this salad gets us both eating more fruit.  And all the ingredients are real food.  That’s the best part. There’s no added sugar, no added preservatives, no pudding, no jello, just fruit and fruit juice.

Is Fruit Salad healthy?

Absolutely. Fruit Salad is very healthy. They contain lots of iron, potassium, vitamin C, vitamin B6, and so much more. It is also a great and delicious way to hydrate. They also have lots of antioxidants.

When I lived in Texas, I ate fruit for dinner a lot. The cold fruit that usually contains a lot of water was so refreshing during the summer.
