Smoked Gouda Dip: A flavorful dip recipe, made with just 3 simple ingredients. The perfect recipe for any gathering throughout the year!
Kerry hosts coffee at her house every month, and it’s a fun time for us all to get together, do a little chit chatting, and eat yummy food. A few months ago, one of the ladies brought a Gouda dip, and it was amazing. I immediately set out to figure out how to make my own.
My family prefers smoked Gouda over regular Gouda, so I used smoked. If your family prefers regular Gouda, this dip will be wonderful with plain as well.
What is Gouda cheese good on?
Smoked Gouda dip goes well with crackers of all sorts, especially ones with lots of seeds in them, or toasted baguette. It is also good to dip carrots, celery, or red pepper slices in. Smoked gouda dip could even be used on a sandwich, in place of mayo or other condiments.
Can you melt Gouda cheese?
You definitely can melt Gouda cheese, but for this recipe we don’t recommend it. Part of the appeal of this Smoked Gouda Dip is the pieces of Gouda in it, and you would lose that if you melted it.
Additionally, because this recipe contains mayonnaise, it likely won’t heat well.
How do you serve Gouda cheese?
This Smoked Gouda Dip is easy to serve. Mound it on a plate, or fill a bowl with it, and provide a knife or spoon to serve it.

Could you use sour cream instead of the mayo?

I imagine that would work fine, Wanda, though it would change the flavor a bit. I haven't actually tried it though. If you do try that, I would love to hear how it turns out!
