This last Friday the Hardworking Husband and I had my mother-in-law and a friend over for dinner. I cleaned my house thoroughly after being gone for two weeks. And I figured since my house was clean, I’d have friends over on Saturday. We had a dessert party. Since it was so impromptu, only a few people came over. Jamie and her kids were some of those. Jamie is looking so cute these days with her baby belly.
I made two desserts for the party. One needs a little working on because it didn’t turn out like I wanted. The other, S’mores in a Jar, was great, but I will do it a little different next time. I will share with you the recipe with the alterations. However, because I haven’t made it with the alterations, I’m not sure how many it makes. But I’m going to guess 9.
S’mores in a Jar
Graham Cracker Crust
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup melted butter
1 Tbsp sugar
Brownies
1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup and 2 Tbsp flour
1/4 tsp salt
Mini marshmallows
Preheat oven to 350. Spray the inside of half pint jars with cooking spraying.
Mix all the ingredients together for the graham crack crust with a fork.
In a microwave safe bowl, add butter and chocolate chips. Microwave for 30 seconds at a time, stirring in between. Heat until chocolate chips are completely melted. Mix in sugar and vanilla. Allow to cool some. Stir in eggs. Add salt and flour.
In half pint jars, scoop 2 Tbsp of the graham cracker crust into the jar and pat down.
Scoop 3 Tbsp of the brownie batter into the jars.
Place jars on a baking sheet & place in oven. Bake for 20 – 35 minutes.
After brownies are baked, cool for a few minutes. Drop a handful of mini marshmallows on top and place under the broiler. Watch closely because they can go from white to burned very quickly. Toast the marshmallows. Cool and serve.
(The pictures you see go with me making them bigger. They were hard to eat and too rich with them that big.)

What a great idea for Smores! I have never thought about making them in the microwave in a mason jar. I love cooking in mason jars and use them all the time. I will have to try this. I pinned it.
