What are croutons made of?
Homemade croutons are as simple as bread, butter or oil, and seasoning. There are so many options for the bread you use, and so many options for the seasoning you use.
How long do homemade croutons last?
Homemade croutons are best on the day they are made. However they will last for a week. They don’t need to be refrigerated.
Sourdough Croutons
Ingredients
- Sourdough bread
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 3 Tbsp parsley
- 1 Tbsp season salt
- 2 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Cut sourdough bread into 1" cubes.
- Place cubes in a large bowl and drizzle with butter.
- Sprinkle with spices and toss.
- Spread on crouton cubes on a sheet pan.
- Bake for 15 minutes, stirring about halfway through.
- Remove from oven when golden brown.
- Let cool for about 5 minutes.
- Enjoy
Notes
You may need to adjust the amount of butter and spices according to how much sourdough you are using.
