These fluffy Sourdough Pancakes are so easy to make! They use 1 cup of sourdough starter, making them a great recipe to use up your never-ending sourdough discard.
My kids love pancakes. Making pancakes from scratch is one of the first recipes my kids mastered, because pancakes are just a favorite food of theirs.
After starting to make sourdough, I soon found myself overwhelmed with the amount of sourdough discard I needed to deal with, so I started trying sourdough discard recipes. I even put together a whole post with links to recipes using 1 cup of sourdough discard.
One of the recipes that we tried was sourdough pancakes.
My kids loved these pancakes even more than our regular recipe. My son proclaimed that sourdough discard pancakes are the best pancakes ever.
This recipe is so easy to make using pantry staples and sourdough discard. The batter can be whipped up in about 5 minutes.
Cooking these on a griddle makes it easy to cook 6 pancakes at a time, so you can have all of the pancakes cooked in about 10 minutes.
- 1 Egg
- 1 cup Sourdough Discard
- 2 cups Milk
- 2 Tbsp. Oil
- 2 cups Flour
- 2 tsp. Baking Powder
- 1 tsp. Baking Soda
- 2 Tbsp. Sugar
- 1 tsp. Salt
- Heat griddle while making batter.
- In a large bowl, whisk egg.
- Add sourdough discard, milk, and oil, and whisk until combined.
- Add remaining ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Pour by the 1/4 cup.
- Cook 1 1/2- 2 minutes per side, until golden.
