Sweet Onion Dip is perfect for anytime you need an appetizer. The Asiago cheese and sweet onion give it great flavor. It is easily double or tripled for sharing with large groups.
We are at the beginning of football season. The Hardworking Husband LOVES football. I like football as well. I’m not as hard core as he is. I like to watch my team, hanging out with friends and watching the game, and the food.
I decided to kick off the season I’d make some appetizers to enjoy while we watched. We have blogged lots of appetizers that work great for football watching. Mini Cheese Balls, Guacamole, Crock Pot Cinnamon Sugar Almonds, Baked Ricotta Dip, Slow Cooker Mushrooms, Cheesy Hashbrown Bites, and Loaded Queso Dip are just a portion that we have on the blog.
One of my most recent favorite appetizers is Sweet Onion Dip. It has great onion flavor with wonderfulness of cheese. It is great on sliced baguette or chips. Really I could just eat spoon fulls of it.
The Asiago cheese has great smoky flavor and the Monterey Jack cheese has the melty gooeyness that makes for a good dip.
You can easily double or triple the recipe for a party. It is a crowd favorite. I rarely come home with any when I take it to gatherings.
- 2 cups Monterey Jack cheese shredded
- 1/2 cup Asiago cheese shredded
- 2 cups small diced onion
- 3/4 cup mayo
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
Preheat oven to 350. Great a 1 quart casserole dish and set aside.
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl.
Pour mixture into casserole dish. Bake for 45 - 50 minutes
Remove from oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes.
Enjoy with sliced baguette or chips.
