Minty, creamy Copycat Asphalt Pie. Better than Winger’s! We don’t order dessert often when we go out. By the time we eat, we rarely have the appetite to eat a dessert, plus restaurant desserts are typically pretty high priced. However, asphalt pie from Winger’s would be the exception. I would purposely not finish my dinner, just to save room for asphalt pie. The minty flavor is so delicious, and the yummy caramel sauce over the top just makes it perfect! For my birthday this year, I decided I didn’t want a cake, I wanted asphalt pie. Now, before you go

A good old-fashioned dessert recipe from the 50’s. For my mom’s birthday this year, she asked for Chocolate Chip Pie. Apparently this is a recipe that my grandma used to make when my mom was little and they lived on a farm. As best as I can figure, this pie may have originated in the early 1950s. When my mom said she wanted Chocolate Chip Pie, I immediately thought of something similar to a pecan pie, but with chocolate chips in it instead… I have no idea why I thought that, but it’s a good thing I got the recipe!
After Jamie made her Strawberry & Cream Hand Pies, I really wanted to try another flavor of hand pies. I love blueberries and I love that they are a fruit that you can use fresh or frozen ones and either way, it turns out great. But I didn’t just want to make regular ole’ blueberry hand pies, so I thought I’d try making adding banana to it. I have made blueberry banana bread before and loved it so I thought why not try it? I thought these turned out great and the banana wasn’t overpowering it at all. It
Cute and individual sized Strawberries and Cream Hand Pies. I love all things strawberry. Seriously, this is one of my favorite times of year, since I can finally find delicious strawberries at the store. And we even have some strawberries growing in our garden- though I rarely get to eat one, since the kiddos like to pick them before they’re ripe! So here’s another strawberry recipe for you: Strawberries and Cream Hand Pies. Some of you might not be familiar with hand pies. They’re making their way across Pinterest, and they’re basically just individual pies. I love that they’re super
Our Thanksgiving Dishes Series continues today. If you’ve missed any be sure to check them out. When I lived at the ranch, we had a pie called buttermilk pie. It was one of my favorites. I failed to get that recipe before I left. It was one that didn’t get put in the ranch cookbook. So I searched high and low for a recipe like it and found nothing. Several years later I picked up a cookbook that went along with a book series I had read. Flipping through the cookbook, I found Buttermilk Chess Pie. It is the
Another recipe I got from the ranch was one of the staff’s favorite desserts was Brownie Pie. About mid summer, the staff would get tired of the same meals and find reasons not to be there. But the night we had Brownie Pie, they all showed up. It’s so good, but also so easy to make. Brownie Pie 2 pie crusts 1 box brownie mix Ingredients to make brownies 1 tsp cinnamon 1 – 8oz cream cheese 2 eggs 1 cup powdered sugar Preheat oven to 350. Place pie crusts in two 9″ pie plates.
This post is part of our July Top 5. Check out the rest of the best here. I love peach pie and peach cobbler but if I’m completely honest, I have to admit that I don’t really like crust all that much. So I took some of my freezable peach pie filling and combined it with an apple crisp recipe I’ve used for many years. Print Peach Pie Crisp Prep Time 15 mins Cook Time 30 mins Total Time 45 mins Course: Dessert Servings: 9 people Author: Coffee With Us 3 Ingredients 1 can peach pie filling or 1 pkg of freezable
Last summer my sister-in-law texted me asking me if I would be interested in peaches. I, of course, said “yes!” We went to her mother-in-law’s house and picked a bunch of peaches from their trees! This is what prompted me to plant our own fruit trees this year. It was so fun to have so many peaches. We ate a bunch, put some in our Fruit & Zucchini Smoothies, and I froze some to have for later. I really wanted to make a peach pie but it was just too hot last summer for baking. So I found this freezable peach
I love fruit. I love vegetables too, but I prefer fruit. The Hardworking Husband on the other hand prefers vegetables specifically potatoes. Well, really he likes most vegetables. This makes it difficult for me to eat fruit like I’d like because they generally go bad before I can get them eaten. The HH will eat some fruit like green grapes, strawberries and blueberries. When you ask him if he likes a type of fruit like peaches or oranges, he says I like blueberries. He has made it very clear he only really wants blueberries. But he is particular how these
