Texas Brisket Rub

Texas Brisket Rub is a perfect for smoking a brisket or actually any beef. Texas rubs tend to be more peppery but amazingly delicious.

How long should I leave the rub on my brisket?

After putting the rub on the brisket, you can smoke it immediately or you can leave it on and in the refrigerator up to 24 hours.

Should I put oil on my brisket before putting the rub on?

You can put olive oil on your brisket before putting the rub on. However, I prefer not to. The brisket has a fat cap on it and has enough fat/oil/grease in it. The rub will stick to the brisket without the olive oil.

What’s the difference in Texas Brisket Rub and other brisket rubs?

Brisket rub in Texas has a pepper base. Other brisket rubs either have very little or no pepper in them at all.

Yield: Enough for 1 brisket
