When I was in high school, I had the privilege of going on a month long exchange to Germany. Each of us American students was partnered with a German student. The German students came and stayed with us for a month, and then the following year, we went and stay with them for a month. It was in Germany that I was first introduced to Nutella.

Germany was such an incredible experience.  Living with a German family made the trip much more authentic than it would have been had we stayed in a hotel, surrounded daily by our fellow Americans.   Seeing the castles was incredible. Driving on the Autobahn was scary! The trip was full of firsts, and many memorable experiences, but one of my favorite things was the food! Fresh baked bread from the bakery down the street, along with meats from the butcher. Schnitzle and kraut, Cola Weizen and Radler, and lots of Nutella!

I am so glad that Nutella finally caught on here in the United States, so I didn’t have to be deprived of it for long. It’s seriously too delicious.  If you’ve never had Nutella, run to your favorite grocery store and pick up a container right now!  Or order it here on Amazon (affiliate link) if you’d rather stay at home!
