Sparkling Blueberry Lemonade is a refreshing twist on lemonade. The blueberries give it a little different flavor and the seltzer water gives it a little pep. Jamie and I went to the Everything Food Conference at the beginning of May. It is a conference for food bloggers. We had a great time. I had such a great time that I drank sodas. I haven’t had a soda in 2.5 years. The first one was good. The second was ok, and the third was yuck. In the last 2.5 years, I have only drank iced tea, hot tea, hot chocolate coffee,
Have you had cold brew coffee yet? Are you wondering what cold brew coffee is? Are you wondering what they hype is? Well, you have come to the right place. Cold Brew Coffee is simply made by steeping coffee grounds in room-temp or cold water. The grounds are steeped for 12 – 24 hours at room-temp. I like to leave mine for 24 hours on my counter. Are you wondering why in the world would I want to make coffee this way? Why would you want to wait that long for coffee? Cold Brew Coffee is less acidic which in
The perfect combination of peppermint and chocolate comes together in this Christmasy Candy Cane Frozen Hot Chocolate Milkshake recipe! If I had to pick just one flavor that was Christmas to me, it would be the peppermint flavor of candy canes. Perhaps because they are something that I only have once a year, they seem like a treat. Every year, I attempt to come up with some new recipe I can use candy canes in, and this year it’s candy cane frozen hot chocolate milkshakes! Yum! Many years ago, I worked as a barista in a coffee shop. One of
Peach Tea is another great cold drink for the summer. A sweet tea with refreshing peach flavor. You can make this as sweet as you want. When I think summer, I think bbq’s, fresh fruit, salads, and sweet tea. Summertime means hot days. You won’t catch me without a cold drink during the summer. My favorite is sweet iced tea. Our ice maker quit working this week and I was an unhappy camper. I need ice! Fortunately, it was a pretty easy fix and I have ice once again. I am once again drinking iced coffee and iced tea.
Lavender Lemonade is a refreshing twist on lemonade. It has just a hint of lavender and gives you a spa like drink when you need to relax. It’s officially summer. It’s hot. Even here in the mountains. I find that I try to hydrate more when it’s hot. And since I’ve kicked soda to the curb and I’m not a huge fan of water, I have gotten creative with finding things to drink. Lemonade and iced tea have been my staples for a while. But I get bored of those after a while. One way I change up my iced
These Virgin Strawberry Rhubarb Margaritas are a sweet, tart frozen mocktail. My kids were so thrilled when I made them Virgin Watermelon Margaritas, that they’ve been asking me to make them another “special drink.” So today I decided to go for it and give it a try, and these Virgin Strawberry Rhubarb Margaritas were conceived. I’ve got a big rhubarb plant that is about as hardy as a plant can get. We moved in the fall before last, and most of the yard was either overgrown weedy, or dead and scorched, due to the fact that it had been vacant
Dark Chocolate Hot Cocoa is a very chocolaty hot cocoa. It is the most delicious and decadent hot cocoa you’ve ever had. It is a perfect indulgence for a cold snowy day. It has snowed a ton this winter here in Idaho. Most everyone is over the snow and it’s only January. In the town I live in, we have gotten over 60 inches of snow. Our average is about 45 inches. We have come to a point that we don’t know where to put the snow anymore and we are paying people to haul it away. I am

It was in Germany that I was first introduced to Nutella. Germany was such an incredible experience. Living with a German family made the trip much more authentic than it would have

Healthy, non-dairy, & full of protein, this Skinny Banana Split Milkshake only tastes indulgent. I can no longer eat ice cream and man do I miss it! My oldest daughter can’t have dairy either so I’ve been exploring more ways to make “fake” ice cream. This is my new favorite way to have ice cream without really having ice cream. My daughter and I just recently switched to almond milk and we’re still getting used to it. But I absolutely love it in smoothies. For this one, I bought chocolate almond milk and my daughter and I both love it.
