I spent 10 days in Denver and 2 days traveling. I had such a great time! But there is no place like home. My mom and I went to help our friend with her daughter’s wedding. I got to be chef for some of the family that came in for the wedding. And since Denver is a much larger city than Pocatello, we got to do a lot of shopping.
The wedding was absolutely wonderful. They did a great job and there were no big hiccups. I wish I had taken some pictures, but I was just too busy enjoying myself. They used Unveil Loft as their photographer. She did a great job! She has posted some pictures on Facebook, if you’d like to see more than these below.
While I was there we made a few crafts. One I will share tomorrow. And the other was one of the wedding favors. My friend Marsha made beaded spoons to attach the table assignment to. They are beautiful. After the wedding was over, Marsha showed me how they are made.
Things you’ll need:
A small spoon
Beads
Wire (22 or 24 gauge)
Needle nose pliers
Marsha had several different kinds of pliers. First start by picking out your beads a create a pattern with them.
Then cut off a piece of wire about 2 feet long. You may need to trim off some later. Twist the wire to make a small circle, then continue to twist the wire around to make a swirl.
Place swirl on the spoon near the bowl of the spoon and wrap wire around the base of the handle.
String some of the beads onto the wire, then wrap wire around spoon again.
String the rest of the beads and again wrap wire around the spoon.
With the end of the wire make another swirl and bend to place on the handle.
And you are finished! These would make great party favors or hostess gifts.
