Christmas Traditions

Christmas is made up of traditions. As time goes on we often need new ones. Here are 5 great ideas if you are looking for ideas for Christmas traditions.

We all have different Christmas traditions. My family’s traditions have morphed over the years as we get older, get married and have kids. We bring in our spouse’s traditions and combine those with our own.

Some traditions like opening the gifts from each other on Christmas Eve have gone and new ones like having Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve with the church have come.

We’ve also added a tradition of a relaxed lunch on Christmas day. Lunch is usually served in the afternoon because we’ve eaten a big Christmas breakfast. I tend to get up REALLY early on Christmas morning. So I get breakfast in the oven while I’m waiting for everyone else to get up.

Last year, I did a series about Celebrating Christmas Around the World. While writing those posts, I learned that our tradition of opening gifts on Christmas Eve came from my German roots. And the Spritz Cookies my mom makes every year also come from those same German roots.

I wondered what other people’s traditions were. So I asked fellow bloggers for what traditions they have. They have some great ones.
