Turquoise walls with pink flowers make for a bright & very fun flower power girl’s bedroom.
We’ve been in our house almost a year now and it’s still a work in progress. Probably has a lot to do with the fact that I’m just not in that big of a hurry to get it done. And even when we try to work on it, life gets in the way. But one of my daughter’s room is completely done, thanks in large part to my mother (and my sister)!
When we first moved in both of my daughters were in this room, so we painted it with both of them in mind but we have since moved my older daughter out of this room. But this room still perfectly suits my youngest daughter’s, Ry, tastes.
We painted the room Glidden Cool Marine. Then we painted flowers over the top using sample paints. It was just the right amount of paint and saves you a bunch of money. We used Glidden Pink Heather, Pink Carnation, and Pink Peony.
We found the cute flower bedspread at Walmart and I thought it would go with the room perfectly. The flower toy box is a vintage one my mother had. It was amazing how well it worked with the room!
When it came to redoing the dresser, I wanted it last for a long time and be able to match whatever tastes my daughters had. However, I did give in and let them have some pink on the dresser. They’re only little girls once, right?
This was my husband and my old dresser set and we redid both dressers to match and put one in each of the girls’ rooms. The main dresser parts, we painted Glidden Vanilla Shake and the drawers are Barely Blush. I love how it gives it a hint of pink without being overwhelming.
All in all, I’m very happy with how the room turned out. We want to do my other daughter’s room in a similar fashion but a little different so it suits her personality more.
How are your kids’ room decorated? Do you like painting them fun colors or do you keep it more plain? I’d love to hear all about it, leave me a comment below!
