Washi Tape Cookie Cutter Ornaments

I have a thing for making homemade Christmas ornaments. I just love it. I love homemade items, since they just feel so much more thoughtful to me. So I decided to make ornaments again this year.

Last year, the kids made Star and Christmas Tree Ornaments from craft sticks, and I made Homemade Keepsake Ornaments.  Lucy and her kids made Simple Nativity Ornaments.  This year, I had a bunch of Christmas washi tape and wanted to come up with something to do with it, so I came up with these Washi Tape Cookie Cutter Ornaments.

These are simple and cheap, and they are adorable in place of a bow on a wrapped present.

What you need:

• Christmas Cookie Cutters, or monogram cookie cutters
• Washi Tape
• Ribbon
• Scissors

These are seriously easy.  I made the three ornaments three different ways, so you could see which way you like, and make yours that way.  You can put washi tape around the outside only (like the Christmas tree), around the inside only (like the star), or around both the outside and the inside (like the candy cane).

I used metal cookie cutters, but plastic ones would work just as well.  Basically, just go for it.  That’s the great thing about washi tape– it’s pretty easy to peel off if you decide you don’t like the way it’s looking!
