DIY Minion Ornaments

Minion Ornaments are easy to make, and add a bright splash of fun to any Christmas tree!

My kids love, love, love the Despicable Me movies.  So when I was thinking about making Christmas ornaments this year (a bit of a tradition in our house, like this Cinnamon Stick Nativity ornament, or these Cookie Cutter Ornaments, or these Keepsake Ornaments), and thought Minion Ornaments would be perfect!

Welcome back to year 6 of our Festive Christmas Event where we team up with a bunch of talented blogging friends to bring you a plethora of creative ways to celebrate your holiday season.

We will be baking some cookie recipes for you, sharing some party games, making some handmade gifts, doing some ornament crafting, and sharing our Christmas movies family fun. There will be breakfast recipes and as always our decorated Christmas Trees which is always a fun tour of homes.

New this year is Gift Guides. We are right there with you shopping from home due to Covid 19 and we understand how hard that can be so we have been busy little Elves doing tons of research to create fabulous Gift Guides to help you with your holiday shopping.

Materials Needed to Make Minion Ornaments:

  1. Remove the top of the ornament.
  2. Squirt some yellow paint into the inside of the ornament, and turn the ornament to coat the inside with paint.
  3. Prop upside down over a paper plate or something like that, and allow to dry.
  4. Cut a strip of black felt to fit around the ornament.
  5. Using hot glue gun, attach googly eyes (or eye!).
  6. Cut around the googly eyes, making goggles.
  7. Hot glue the felt around the ornament, and you’re done!

Make a Stuart Minion Ornament with 1 eye, and hair on top.

Or make a Bob Minion Ornament with 2 eyes, or add hair on top to make Stuart.

One of the most fun ways to celebrate the holiday seasons is to cover your dining room table with arts and crafts material and get busy making some DIY ornaments on your own, like these DIY seashell ornaments. There are a lot of ornaments that you can get that will bring a smile to anyone’s face. There are ornaments that are stuffed animals with catnip so your cat will fall in love with it or ornaments that will play music with the push of a button.

My kiddos would love these! They are obsessed with minions and have tons of toys and stuffed animals of them (some I definitely don't remember from the movies). Such an adorable ornament idea!
