Bacon Wrapped Asparagus is a sweet and savory side dish. Ready in 30 minutes and perfect for dinner tonight. Enjoy asparagus season!
My friend Brooks’ nickname for The Hardworking Husband is Bacon. As you may have guessed he gets this nickname because he LOVES bacon. He would eat bacon every day if I cooked it. We always have bacon in our house. And I often buy 15 lbs of bacon at a time and freeze it.
When I came across a recipe for Bacon Wrapped Asparagus, I knew I had to try it. I made it for a dinner party. The HH told me I could make that again, but not when people were over. He didn’t want to share. I have made it couple times since then.
It is perfect for us. I love asparagus. I eat too much asparagus during asparagus season. (Yes, it is possible to eat too much. And you’ll know when you’ve had too much.) With my love asparagus and The HH’s love for bacon, this is the perfect dish.
A sweet and savory side dish.
- 1 bunch asparagus
- 4-5 slice bacon
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 1.5 tsp soy sauce
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
Preheat oven to 400.
Wash asparagus & trim ends. Divide asparagus into bunches of three or four spears.
Wrap a slice of bacon around each bunch and place in baking dish. Repeat until all bunches are wrapped.
In a small sauce pan, add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil.
Pour mixture over asparagus.
Bake for 20 minutes.
I like to use thick cut bacon.
