Ginger Citrus Scrub makes a great gift! It's also nice to keep for yourself to make your skin feel amazing!

I thought it would be fun to make something for my mom, mother-in-law and grandma for Mother's Day.  I tried to think up what I could do, since none of them really need anything.  Which is where Ginger Citrus Scrub comes in.

I finally decided that everyone can use a little pampering, so I set about creating a small gift basket for that purpose, including some ginger citrus scrub, homemade lip balm, a lotion bar, an emery board, and some nail polish.  You could easily include a potted flower as well, to make the present even more fun!

The idea of making a ginger citrus scrub came from one of the leaders in our MOPS group.  We made a bunch of ginger scrubs before our first meeting to give out as birthday presents to the moms throughout the year.  I loved how they turned out, so I thought I would make one too.  For MOPS we made a ginger lemongrass combination, but I got to thinking orange with ginger would be really nice, so that's what I did.

I'm not sure where this MOPS leader got her recipe, since she was out of town for a bit while I was looking for a recipe, but I finally found a good recipe from Live In Art.  If you've never checked out Nicole's blog, you definitely should- she has some great natural recipes, as well as some amazingly beautiful art and jewelry.

I quadrupled Nicole's scrub, since I wanted enough for gifts as well as for myself.  It ended up making about 4 ½ of the 8 ounce jelly jars of the ginger citrus scrub.  If you want less, adjust as necessary.
