Grilled Caramel Apple Crunch
Grilled Caramel Apple Crunch is a fun treat for camping or a BBQ, or can even be made in the oven!

I love grilling. Well, that's not exactly true. I don't do any grilling- that's my husband's area- which is why I love it!
If I have a meal that needs grilling, I get the evening off! So I love grilling!
I've recently been wanting to try grilling a dessert, so I came up with this Grilled Caramel Apple Crunch, and it was everything I wanted it to be.
If you're not so much of a griller, or you don't have a grill, this Grilled Caramel Apple Crunch can be made over low coals on a campfire, or you can bake it in your oven at about 350º.
You can use granola from the store, or you can use this recipe for our favorite Versatile Granola.
Best of all, the foil packets of Grilled Caramel Apple Crunch can be made ahead of time (if you're camping or having a lot of people over). Just put them in the fridge or cooler until you're ready to cook them. And they don't take very long at all!
📖 Recipe
Grilled Caramel Apple Crunch
Ingredients
- 1 cup chopped apple, (approximately 1 small apple)
- sprinkle of cinnamon,, optional
- 2 tablespoon caramel ice cream topping
- ¼ cup granola
Instructions
- Preheat grill to medium heat (approximately 350º).
- Tear off 2 pieces of aluminum foil, approximately 8 inches square each.
- Put chopped apples in the center of one piece of foil.
- Sprinkle with cinnamon (if desired).
- Drizzle caramel over the apples.
- Sprinkle with granola.
- Place the other foil square over the top, and roll the foil packets together. Start with the corners, and then roll up the edges, so it seals well.
- Place in the grill, over coals, or in the oven for 10-15 minutes, until apples are soft.
- Be careful when opening the foil packet, and be sure to open the side farthest away from you first, so the steam doesn't burn you.
- Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
Notes
These directions are for 1 foil packet. Double, triple, etc for the number needed.

What a great idea! Especially for those warmer fall days!
Definitely! We grill all year, but apples definitely are best in the fall.
I love this! We grill year round, and this is a great idea. Thanks for sharing this recipe.
Grilling is awesome!
Dessert on the grill....love it!
Thanks, Danita! I've been trying to get more grilling going, so I'm less responsible in the kitchen! lol
My husband and I are going to pick apples on Thursday, this recipe sounds perfect! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Apple picking is such fun (though a lot of work)! What do you usually use your apples for?
Apple cider, and I eat them with homemade peanut butter with breakfast or as a snack!
I bet homemade apple cider is delicious! I really need to try it- Kerry has made it, but I haven't.
I love this idea. We grill out often even in winter, This would be a great accompaniment. I still have quite a few apples to use from our trees. Thanks for the inspiration!
You're welcome, Shari! Fresh apples really make this delicious!
Haha.. so funny, I just did practically the same thing with an apple in the microwave! (Middle of the night, I had some munchies!)
That is funny!
What a great idea! My husband and I grill all year round and are always looking for great dessert recipes on the grill!
I hope you'll let me know how you like it! Do you live somewhere that's pretty temperate? We would love to grill year round, but our winters get pretty nasty.
What a fabulous idea! If I camped, it would be an awesome campfire treat!
Yes, and it's far healthier than s'mores (not to diss s'mores- they're pretty awesome)
