Heart Salad

Get your kids to eat their vegetables (and fruits) by making them cute! This heart salad is perfect for Valentine’s Day, a Grinch movie night, or any time you just want to add an extra little love to your table.

I made this Heart Salad for a Grinch Family Movie Night.  I kept thinking about yummy desserts, but I wanted there to be an option for real food, too, so I made Pesto Pasta and this Heart Salad.

This is an extremely simple recipe, so it’s really more the idea than the recipe that I’m sharing today.

What kind of dressing goes well with Heart Salad?

We enjoyed our salad with oil and vinegar, but it would go really well with Orange Poppyseed Vinaigrette or Creamy Poppyseed Dressing or Honey Vinaigrette.

How to make Heart Salad hearts:

Hold strawberry, and cut in a curving line from the top edge down to the middle.  Repeat for the other side.

Pull out the top.  Then turn the strawberry and slice to make several hearts.
