I am wondering why you need the vinegar? I'm not very familiar with making BBQ recipies in the crock pot. I plan on using a Honey BBQ sauce and don't want to make it too tart or sour with the vinegar. Thank you!
Thanks for stopping by our facebook page to ask this! We actually do read and reply to comments-- even on our old posts. But I thought I'd reply to you here, as well, just in case anyone else has the same question:
The
vinegar makes it a bit tangy, so if you don't like that, you can
definitely skip it. Its purpose is to tenderize the meat, but by using
the crockpot the meat will be pretty tender anyway, so it won't be a big
deal if you skip it.
This is definitely so very easy and totally pinning when I need a quick chicken recipe fix! Thank you so much 🙂
Thanks for pinning, Janine! Hope you like it!
Do you also double the bbq sauce and vinegar if adding more than 1 lb.chicken?
The sauce should be enough for an extra pound of chicken, unless you really like it saucy. If you're doing 3 pounds, I would recommend doubling the sauce 🙂
