Traditional Christmas Cookies

Many countries have a similar cookie. It is a traditional Christmas Cookie.  It’s a lightly sweet cookie that is coated in powdered sugar. Sweden has the Swedish Snowball Cookie.

Like many countries have a food similar to the ravioli – Germans have the Runza, Poland has the Pierogi, Russia has pelmeni, China has Pot Stickers, and Turkey has manti; many countries have a similar cookie.

We have traveled through 5 countries in our Christmas Around the World. Most of these countries have this similar cookie. So I am finishing this series with those cookies. These cookies are not overly sweet yet rolled or dusted with powdered sugar.

Germany has Pfeffernusse Cookies. Mildly Meandering has a great recipe for those.German Pfeffernüsse Cookies from Mildly Meandering

The Czech Republic has Vanilla Crescents. Cinnamon Spice & Everything Nice has some great Christmas Crescent Cookies over on her blog.

Egypt has the Kahk Cookies that I shared earlier this week.

And Sweden has some amazing Snowball Cookies.  The Hardworking Husband has really enjoyed the Kahk Cookies and the Swedish Snowball Cookies. His favorite kind of cookies are the ones that aren’t overly sweet.
